Thursday: 129 miles, a quarter tank of gas, a sixty minute Uber ride and we arrive at our next residence located in a quiet court off Fleet Street.
We’ve come all the way to London just to find a Brooklyn ale on tap!
A stroll about in search of vittles, not too successful. This is primarily a business district.
But, to our good fortune a spendid curry house is right next door.
Its been months since we’ve returned from India and the flavorable scents caught our attention in a flash.
Some papadum and chutneys to start…
A tandoori mixed grill, aloo gobi, palak paneer, garlic nan, and a bit of rice make a full dinner.
Better that we stroll about for awhile after that feast!
And just a few blocks away stands the towering St Pats Cathedral..
Looking back from the Millenium bridge…
Did we mention that the city is chockablock with tourists of a rainbow of languages?
On the opposite side of the bridge is the Tate Modern. A visit for another day, its late and closed for the day.
Despite the hour, the Thames is still busy with boat traffic with tourists ubering along the city’s piers.
Sunset may be approaching but that does not quell the masses overflowing riverside bars.
Got our steps for the day. Time to rest. Big day tomorrow.
Nite, nite.
St Paul’s and other buildings will be alight tonight in commemoration of VJ Day!
I just love that it’s still light outside!
